RONNIE ROSE
Jazz / Blues Singer

Originally from Massachusetts, Ronnie Rose has a career that has, so far, spanned five decades. He began performing in his teens singing with local bands back in the “Battle of the Bands” era. As a young man, Ronnie worked at a local hospital washing pots and pans, but was fired because he would not stop singing. Twenty-five years later, the same hospital hired him to perform at their yearly black tie fundraiser dinner dance.

Moving to Rhode Island in his twenties started him on the path of becoming one of the most respected entertainers in all of the state. The State of Rhode Island even had a questionnaire to see if you were a knowledgeable Rhode Islander which included the question, "Do you know who Ronnie Rose is?"

As his career continued to expand, Ronnie performed with several nightclub acts, then jumped onto the Disco scene in the late '70's with the group Powerful People, signing with Epic Records to release their single “(Little Girl) Say Yes.”

He found his true calling when he began performing at wedding receptions and corporate events. His ability to sing a variety of styles made him a success with clients who needed someone who could sing everything from "Unforgettable " to "Brickhouse" to "Wonderful Tonight" to “The Way You Look Tonight" and "Old Time Rock & Roll" without skipping a beat! The art of making a private event a PARTY is an acquired skill, and Ronnie is a master. When the movie The Wedding Singer was released, the Boston Globe interviewed Ronnie to get introspective on what it's like to be a real wedding singer.
Relocating to Las Vegas in 2004 was a gamble for Ronnie, but success continues to follow him. He has developed a devoted fan base who love to hear him sing, whether it be jazz, blues, Motown or swing. Although Ronnie has the stature more like a football linebacker, he even had a successful stint as Sammy Davis Jr. in a Vegas Rat Pack Tribute Show produced by Sandy Hackett.

In the past 16 years, The Ronnie Rose Band has performed at over 1000 weddings and at over 2500 corporate and private functions. He has performed at events attended by former President George Bush, former First Lady Hillary Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, and the Rev. Jesse Jackson; inaugural events for mayors and visiting dignitaries; and in concert with The Beach Boys, Barry Manilow, Kool and the Gang, The Four Tops, as well as other well known bands!

In 2011, Ronnie received the Excellence in Entertainment Award for “Entertainer of the Year.” The very next year, he was inducted into the Las Vegas “Entertainers Hall of Fame.” He is also a multi-year winner of the Las Vegas Black Music Awards for “Best Jazz Male Vocalist” and “Best Blues Male Vocalist.” He has performed at just about every major casino in Las Vegas, as well as at The Smith Center with such artists as Clint Holmes and Deana Martin. Ronnie also had a standing engagement several nights a week at the Eastside Lounge, Encore Resort, for more than a year, and continues to be invited back on a regular basis. His credits go on and on. To find out where Ronnie will be performing next, you can visit his calendar page.

As Ronnie Rose says, "Singing from the heart is a universal language."

ABOUT RITA

RITA LIM
Jazz Singer

Rita Lim was born in Los Angeles, CA. It was obvious at a young age that she had a natural talent for singing. Her family took her to Asia in her youth to learn of her heritage and start developing her singing talent. Upon returning to the United States, she began modeling professionally and studying American Jazz, completely immersing herself in the styles of some of her favorite singers, like Julie London, Shirley Horn, Karen Carpenter and Jeri Southern.

She eventually moved to Las Vegas, NV where she continued studying and performing. She has honed her talents, singing with some of the top bands and musicians in Las Vegas, and working with incredibly talented arrangers like Bill Fayne (longtime musical director for Clint Holmes and arranger of multiple musical scores for various Las Vegas shows). Whether singing smooth jazz or the classics, her style is uniquely her own. In Las Vegas, she has enjoyed recurring engagements at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Italian American Club Restaurant, South Point Hotel & Casino, Sam's Town Hotel & Casino, Tuscany Hotel & Casino, and the Suncoast Hotel & Casino.

Rita released her first album THE SECRET OF LIFE in 2012, which has not only been received very well here in the United States but in Asian countries as well (her version of “I Will” is a best seller in Japan), and she has already begun work on a second album.

Rita performs several nights a week throughout Las Vegas, including every Friday night with “Joey Ugarte and the Jazz Vibrations” at the iconic EL Cortez Hotel & Casino in the Parlour Bar & Lounge. She has been very excited to work with Joey's band saying, “This is my first time singing jazz with the flavor of Latin and Brazilian beats. It has been an amazing and creative experience. We have a lot of fun.” Rita also appears regularly at the well-known Bootlegger Bistro and works with Carolyn Freeman of the American Jazz Initiative who is dedicated to keeping Jazz alive and vibrant in Las Vegas. Visit Rita's CALENDAR page for a full listing of upcoming performances.
